Herbal Pain Relief for Inflammation ![]() Anti-inflammatory Pain relief for back pain, arthritis, bursitis, sore muscles and joint pain. Chronic pain is any physical discomfort lasting for at least six months. Chronic pain affects up to 50 million Americans, most of whom work full time. Common forms of chronic pain include headaches, backaches, arthritis and trauma caused by sports injuries and car accidents. Each month, one in four American adults suffers pain for at least 24 hours. That pain lasts for a year in nearly three-fifths of those over 65 and in 37 percent of those aged 20 to 44.
More than 20 million Americans have Osteo Arthritis, and women comprise about 63.5 percent of the cases of OA in Americans 60 and older. Inflammation is the body's first defense against infection, but when it becomes chronic, it can lead to heart attacks, colon cancer, Alzheimer's and a host of other diseases. Doctors have warned that the painkiller ibuprofen can raise the risk of having a heart attack. A study by British researchers suggests regular use of the drug increases the chances of an attack by almost a quarter. Other painkillers in the same family of anti- inflammatory drugs - used by millions of arthritis patients - are even more hazardous, raising the risk by up to 55 per cent, according to the study. Even the smallest paper cut kicks the immune system into action. Infection fighting white blood cells, called neutrophils, rush to the site of injury and iniate inflammation. Calling for back up, the neutrophils quickly recruit more of their kind to the scene, and commence to kill any bacteria they find. The skirmishes and casualties cause the skin around the cut to swell and redden until, victory in sight, the first wave of inflammation subsides. As the neutrophils retreat, the healing can begin. Yet these defensive forces have a dark side as well. Unchecked, raging inflammation can damage the very tissues the immune system is designed to protect. In fact, researchers have linked out-of-control inflammation to an ever-growing list of diseases, from clogged arteries and heart attacks to arthritis and cancer. Inflammation can inflict devastating degenerative effects throughout the body. A growing consensus among scientists is that common disorders such as atherosclerosis, colon cancer, and Alzheimer's disease are all caused in part by a chronic inflammatory syndrome. Pain impacts are broad: Sufferers are less likely than other Americans to be very satisfied with their lives overall, and much more likely to say they're in bad health. About four in 10 Americans say pain interferes with their mood, activities, sleep, ability to do work or enjoyment of life. Two-thirds report interference with any one of these. Over 100 million North Americans suffer from chronic pain. Fifty million chronic pain sufferers are partially or totally disabled by chronic or long term pain. Chronic pain costs business and industry approximately 60 billion dollars a year. Pain is the number one reason for doctor visits. Pain sufferers endure the highest levels of negative stress. Our two best products for pain due to inflammation are Inflammation Free (Chinese Herbal Capsules) and CMO Pain Control Cream. What causes bursitis? The most common causes of bursitis are injury or overuse, although infection may also be a cause. Bursitis is also associated with other diseases, such as arthritis, thyroid disease, and diabetes. What are the symptoms of bursitis? Bursitis can cause pain, localized tenderness, and limited motion. Swelling and redness may occur if the inflamed bursa is close to the surface (superficial). Chronic bursitis may involve repeated attacks of pain, swelling, and tenderness, which may lead to the deterioration of muscles and a limited range of motion.
