Chamomile Oil - Tattoo Healing - Aromatherapy

Chamomile oil (Anthemis nobilis) is a mild sedative, skin antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, muscle relaxant and balancing for the female system. Chamomile oil promotes rapid tattoo healing.

Researchers at the University of Budapest conducted pharmacological tests which proved the excellent wound-healing, UV-erythema inhibiting and anti-inflammatory effects of the Marigold flower extracts, with special regard to the so called total extracts; while in the case of a Camomile – wheat germ and/or Marigold composition the improved extent of wound-healing. Clinical tests on complex-6 proved its skin-softening, adstringent, re-generating, skin-calming, itching- and tension-decreasing effect, furthermore its efficacy in the control of smaller cuts, blows, strains.

The first example regards a product group elaborated for the treatment of dry-sensitive skin and for baby-care, its main active ingredient is Camomile-Marigold complex. In the individual products some other moisturizing, epithelium-regenerating and training adjuvant active ingredients were used. During the tests the epithelium-regenerating, the moisturizing, the skin-calming and skin-toning effects were evaluated simultaneously for 4 weeks. The full range effectiveness was 65% even after 1 week, while after 4 weeks it was 95%

Our Roman Chamomile oil is a soothing, gentle relaxant that has been shown to work for a variety of complaints from stress to menstrual cramps. Roman Chamomile has been in use for over 2,000 years as a natural treatment for nervous conditions and insomnia.

Chamomile oil can be used as a pain reliever for muscle aches and pains, arthritis, rheumatism, headaches, migraine, neuralgia, toothache, earache and hemorrhoids.

Chamomile Oil can be used for skin problems including acne, eczema, rashes, wounds, dermatitis, dry itchy skin and allergic conditions in general.

Scientists at the University of Heidelberg pitted chamomile oil, anise oil, dwarf-pine oil, manuka oil, and lemon oil against herpes HSV-1 in test tubes. Manuka comes from the same plant family as the tea tree.

All of the oils showed "high levels" of antiviral activity, even against HSV-1 strains that don't respond to the antiviral drug acyclovir, the researchers report.

Of all the oils that were tested, chamomile oil was particularly good at targeting HSV-1, and it probably wouldn't cause irritation if applied to the skin.

They didn't actually try applying chamomile oil (or any of the other oils) to cold sores. But chamomile oil and other essential oils "might be suitable" for topical application in recurrent HSV-1 infection, even when those infections are resistant to acyclovir.

Another German study demonstrates the efficacy of chamomile on the healing of wounds caused by tattooing. A common problem with tattoos is a 'weeping' wound where the skin has been abraded. The healing and drying process was compared between patients that were treated with Chamomile and a control group. The decrease of the weeping wound area as well as the speed of drying was dramatically improved using Chamomile.

Most essential oils are so strong that a little goes a long way. Essential aromatherapy oils should be diluted in carrier oils for use in massage. When massaged into the skin (essential oils should be diluted - with the exception of Lavender and Tea Tree).

Essential oils are metabolized by the body like any other nutrients. Certain components within the oils will stimulate the immune system, destroy bacteria, act as powerful antioxidants and building blocks to improve nutrient absorption. It takes up to 20 minutes for the oils to be absorbed by the body, where they remain for 7 hours or more, before being excreted.

Smell plays an important role in the process. Differing aromatic rings are contained with essential oils. When we smell these, the odor is transferred into a nerve message. The message is sent to different parts of the brain where the process of stimulating different hormones is undertaken.

Use aromatherapy oils anywhere you want to add a touch of scent.

Enhance your beauty products - combine 6 to 8 drops into your shampoo, conditioner, face cream or body lotion.

Ayurvedic medicine has long believed that almond oil improves intellectual pursuits and doubles as an aphrodisiac. Ancient Egyptian ladies used almond oil in combination with Frankincense Oil as an anti-wrinkle formula. Oil was one of the most common medicines of ancient times. Why not anoint your head with oil?

It only pays to get the very best!
